Edmund Bartlett receives doctorate in Hospitality & Tourism Management
The Tourism Minister of Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Hospitality & Tourism Management. This award was given to him by the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean at its commencement ceremony.

Jamaica: The Tourism Minister of Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Hospitality & Tourism Management. This award was given to him by the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean at its commencement ceremony.
This prestigious award is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of the Minister towards promoting the tourism sector of Jamaica. This acknowledgement celebrates the Minister’s outstanding contributions to tourism in Jamaica and globally, his leadership in sustainable tourism, and his work in the development of the Global Tourism Resilience & Crisis Management Centre.
Following this prestigious recognition, the Minister of Tourism expressed gratitude to God and stated that he is deeply honoured and humbled to receive this recognition from the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean. He added that this award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in the tourism sector.
Minister Bartlett also asserted that it is a privilege for him to serve Jamaica and contribute to the growth and development of the tourism sector of the country. He also delivered the keynote address at the event and promised to continue to take innovative measure and strategies that could elevate Jamaica to greater heights.
He also noted that he will make all efforts in order to promote and protect local culture and traditions within tourism sector. He also aimed to enhance sustainable tourism with a vision to reduce the negative impacts caused by the tourism sector. Also, he aimed to continue to make efforts with a vision to restore and improve the environment, culture and economy of a destination.
Along with that, Adam Stewart, the Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International (SRI) and Chairman of the Ministry’s Tourism Linkages Council was also conferred with the Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) in Business Administration award.
The Tourism Ministry extend heartiest congratulations to Minister Bartlett and Adam Stewart for this recognition and lauded their exceptional achievements they have exceled in the tourism sector over the years.
