The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, officially opened the Ambassadors Cup 40+ Football Tournament at the Warner Park Stadium on Saturday, 19th October, 2024.

This tournament is a great opportunity for men over the age of 40 to engage in several competitive yet recreational football activities with a vision to foster community building and healthy living.

While sharing the glimpses of his meeting and interaction with all the players, the Prime Minister Terrance Drew stated that such activities and sports not only enhance the physical and mental health being but also improves the overall concentration and coordination of all the participants participating in it.

“Last evening, I had the distinct pleasure of opening the Ambassadors Cup – 40+ Football Tournament,” noted PM Terrance Drew.

The Ambassadors Cup 40+ Football Tournament is organized by the Ambassadors including, Leon Natta-Nelson and H.E Kenneth Douglas. It has been organised with a vision to create a platform for people above 40 to showcase their skills, talent, techniques and enhance their overall well-being.

The Prime Minister also urged all the men to have fun while participating in this tournament and continue to engage in some wholesome and positive activities that are crucial for the nation building.

PM Terrance Drew added that the participation by the citizens in such activities are a great way of promoting one’s talent and bringing glory to the nation’s name. He also extended gratitude to all the sponsors of the event and stated that they are optimistic that this important endeavour would bring several positive results, leading the nation towards growth and development.

Moreover, this opening of the Ambassadors Cup 40+ Football Tournament was also attended by the Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins and Deputy Prime Minister, Geoffrey Hanley. Both the ministers also greeted the players and exchanged significant dialogues about the sport and the benefit it holds in improving the health, personality and connections of an individual.
