Dominica to face Jamaica for FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers

Roseau, Dominica: Dominica is all set to face Jamaica on Sunday, 9th June 2024, at Windsor Park Sports Stadium, Roseau, for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2026. The qualification matches of the FIFA World Cup will decide the teams who will compete against the hosts, Canada, Mexico, and the United States, at the prestigious global tournament.

The FIFA World Cup is an international association football competition among senior men’s national teams competing for the trophy and title. Meanwhile, the Dominica Football Association is striving really hard to qualify for the main tournament.

The CONCACAF qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be played between CONCACAF’s other 32 FIFA-affiliated Member Associations. Following the results of the First round, 30 teams will make up the second round of qualifying.

Therefore, Dominica has been placed in Group E in the Concacaf Qualifiers, which also includes four other teams. These teams will compete against each other in order to win the qualifiers. The nations include, Guatemala, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and the winner of the playoff between the USVI and BVI.

Before competing against Jamaica, the players of Dominica will also have to play their first game against Guatemala on 5th June 2024. The Dominica’s Football Association are very optimistic about the players and have stated that they are providing them full support and resources in order to get them prepared for the games.

The football association continuously conducts training sessions to improve the overall fitness of the players, including stamina, endurance, strength, core stability, and more.

Notably, the teams will play single round-robin matches, with two games played on home soil and two away, with the six group winners and six group runners-up advancing to the Third Round. The Second Round will be played over two match days in June 2024 and then another two match days in June 2025.

Moreover, tickets for the match between Dominica and Jamaica have been made available. The amount to get the tickets purchased is $25 for Adults and $15 for the Children (15& under).
