Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit met with the President of the United States, Joe Biden and his wife the first lady Jill Biden.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit met with the President of the United States, Joe Biden and his wife the first lady Jill Biden at the opening ceremony of the IX summit of the Americas in Los Angles on June 8, 2022.
Prime Minister Skerrit expressed pleasure on meeting the US President and first lady, he also shared a picture with both on the social media. PM Skerrit stated, “I was welcomed by US President @JoeBiden and First Lady Jill Biden @FLOTUS at the opening ceremony of the IX Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles on June 8, 2022.”

The White House has made the announcement that this summit is ongoing in Los Angeles. The duration of this summit is June 6 to 10, 2022.
This is the first time in generation that USA is going to host the IX summit of the Americas. The theme of the summit is “Building a Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future,”
PM Skerrit has been accompanied by other Caribbean leaders. The leaders who visited Los Angeles to attend the IX Summit of the Americas are Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Barbados – Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Belize – Johnny Briceño, Prime Minister of Dominica – Roosevelt Skerrit, President of Guyana – Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister of Haiti – Ariel Henry, Prime Minister of Jamaica – Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of St Lucia – Philip J Pierre and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago – Dr Keith Rowley.
Amid the visit, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also celebrated his 50th birthday on June 8 with other leaders of the region. Wishes were poured on the PM on this auspicious occasion.
