Dominica: Melissa Skerrit and other ministers congratulate people of the nation on 44th Independence Day

Dominica: Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Valley and wife of Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, took her social media to wish the people of Dominica on the auspicious occasion of 44th Independence Day of Dominica. The day will be marked under the theme “One Dominica, One People, One Vision”.
While sharing a video of the “National Parade Day,” she noted, “Happy 44th Independence Day, Dominica!”
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit also wished the general public and anticipated that in this upcoming year, the country and its people would grow and rebuild and will touch new heights.
Furthermore, he invited the audience to come and join him for the National Day Observance Ceremony at Windsor Park.
The Facebook post by PM Skerrit read, “Happy Independence Day, Dominica. As we celebrate under the theme ‘One Dominica, One People, One Vision,’ let us be reminded of the need to unite in purpose to build a thriving future for our people and country. May God Bless Dominica. Please join in at 4:30 p.m. for the National Day Observance Ceremony at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.”
Minister of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment Dr Irving McIntyre shared a glimpse of the celebration and wrote, “Today we celebrated our 44th anniversary of Independence.
A beautiful day it was. A well-attended National day parade ceremony in which deserving individuals received meritorious awards in diverse fields, all contributing to our development as an Independent Nation.”
Health Minister further highlighted the ‘masterpiece’ address to the nation, articulating how we have grown from strength to strength in spite of Natural Disasters and external shocks; Our faith in God as a Nation and the comfort that there is still better to come.
Parliamentary Representative of GrandBay Constituency – Dr Vince Henderson, has also taken social media. His post read, “Happy 44th Anniversary of Independence everyone, in particular, my Grand Bay Constituency.”
The general public also took the comment section to wish the leaders and fellow citizens. One user wrote, “Happy independence to the Government and people Dominica,” while another mentioned, “Happy 44th Independence day to you and all yours. Sending love to our PM, his family and all my wonderful Dominican family.”
