Dominica: Know here results of Roseau City Council Elections
The final results of the Roseau City Council Election was shared earlier this week by the Electoral Commission.

Roseau, Dominica: The final results of the Roseau City Council Election was shared earlier this week by the Electoral Commission. On February 8, 2023 (Wednesday), electors in the Roseau Area cast their ballots to elect two persons for Wards II, III, and IV, respectively, to serve on the Roseau City Council.
The final counting was conducted on February 9, 2023 (Thursday) at the designated locations. As a result, the following are the official results of the election as follows –
Ward II
Riah Brumant-177 votes;
Ericson Romain-212 votes; and
Rhoda St John -187 votes.
Rhoda St John and Ericson Romain were elected to Ward II.
Ward III
Quincy Dwayne Angol-79 votes;
Michael Anthony Moreau-84 votes; and
Sherika Winston-84 votes
Sherika Winston and Michael Anthony Moreau were elected in Ward III.
Ward IV
Marilia Vernicia Adams – 194 votes;
Wayne Donald Benjamin – 178 votes;
Sherman Hartford Boston -226 votes, and
Christina J. Sobers – 120 votes.
Sherman Hartford Boston and Marilia Vernicia Adams were elected in Ward IV.
The voter turnout in the various wards was as follows –
Ward IV
445 persons or 8.96%
Ward II
355 persons or 7.61%
Ward III
140 persons or 5.50%
The persons elected to the Roseau City Council are –
Ward I
Sandra Ermine Rover and Ken Joseph
Ward II
Ericson Romain and Rhoda St John
Ward III
Michael Anthony Moreau and Sherika Winston
Ward IV
Marilia Vernicia Adams and Sherman Hartford Boston
These were the first-ever city elections, following the general elections held on December 6, 2023, across the country. The elections were won by Dominica Labour Party led by Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit. In 2022, the general elections were not usual, as six contestants fought unopposed and were declared winners at the end of the nomination day. PM Roosevelt Skerrit was nominated unopposed along with newcomers Lakeyia Joseph from Paix Bouche, Roland Royer from Cottage, Daren Pinard from Colihaut, Jullan Defoe: Petite from Savanne and returning MP for the Roseau Valley constituency, Dr Irvin McIntyre.
