Dominica, Guadeloupe to experience heavy rainfall for 24-48 hours

Caribbean: Heaviest showers have spared most of the Leewards so far this morning except over Guadeloupe and Dominica, where a few areas of additional 25-100 mm fell in the 6hr period ending 10 am. Parts of Guadeloupe have totalled over 300 mm/ 12inches, and flooding has been reported near the capital.

Bands of heavy convection are just east of the Leewards and near the Virgin Islands.

There is a risk of heavy showers moving into the NW Leewards, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico today, with the associated risk of flash flooding and mudslides in some locations. The risk decreases for Guadeloupe and south Leewards by this afternoon.

A few showers will affect the Windwards, but mostly light. Partly cloudy and hazy skies are expected rest of the weekend.
