Dominica: Government announces new protocols for isolation and home quarantine
According to the reports, the person that would test positive but is asymptomatic and unvaccinated would have been isolated in government isolation center on the 5th day that person would be tested again

During a press conference Coordinator of the Health Promotion Unit in Dominica Mignon Rolle-Shillingford, provided an update on the COVID-19 situation in the country.
New protocols have been introduced for quarantine and isolation for asymptomatic cases. The asymptomatic person tested positive and was fully vaccinated with both doses of the 2-dose vaccine or a single shot of 1-dose vaccine prior to 2 weeks coming for the COVID-19 test. The person should carry the vaccination card as proof to show that they are fully vaccinated. The mentioned cases have been ordered for home quarantine.
The list of approved vaccines are:-
- Oxford AstraZeneca
- Sino pharm
- Pfizer
- Moderna
- Johnson &Johnson
According to the reports, the person that would test positive but is asymptomatic and unvaccinated would have been isolated in government isolation center on the 5th day that person would be tested again and getting the negative result that person would send back to the residence after getting a red wrist band to complete the remaining 5 days home isolation.
The duration of Home quarantine would remain for ten days. The citizens are requested to avoid intake of alcohol and must have a balanced diet to increase their immunity.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment, Dominica, has issued new COVID-19 data. The data shows that Dominica has a total of 575 active cases of the COVID-19 virus out of this, 298 cases were PCR positive and 277 cases were reported positive in rapid antigen test, with 0 death reported on the island due to COVID-19. All the active cases have been tested positive by PCR test.
From the day pandemic hit Dominica, the health department tested 35,494 people, out of which 34,919 were reported negative, and 575 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 virus.
From the starting of tracing the contacts to check if they are infected or not, the government identified 12,795 contacts.
The total number of positive cases from the starting of the COVID-19 virus was 953, out of which 378 recovered now.
According to the report, in Dominica, 21,548 people received their first vaccine shot, and 19,887 have been fully vaccinated after getting 2 shots.
The government announced new testing sites and timings :-
- La Plaine at 10 am.
- Delices at 2 pm
- Castle Bruce at 10 am
- Grand Bay Health Center at 2 pm
- Windsor Park stadium at 9 am – 3 pm
