Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis is proud to announce that DeCheynelle Thomas becomes the first qualifier for the CARIFTA Games set for Grenada in 2024.

Notably, she clocked a time of 57.30 in the 400m Under 17 Women’s Championship and won bronze. She has made everyone proud of her performance at CARIFTA in the Bahamas earlier this year at the age of just fourteen (14).

It is to be noted that she is the youngest and tiniest competitor in the field, and she made her presence felt in a BIG way.

Denzil Llewellyn Douglas, who is serving as a Foreign Minister, extended his good wishes for Thomas through his official Facebook handle.

Her hard work, passion and spectacular performance towards the games earned her this huge victory as she was applauded for her achievement by everyone.

Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley congratulated and thanked Thomas for her hard work and dedication and especially for making the country proud of herself.

Grenada will host the 2024 CARIFTA Games, which will be taking place at the Spice Isle.
