Cuba receives medical supplies donation from Italian association
Recording and Musical Edition Company’s – (EGREM) representatives on Monday received first donation of the medical supplies which was organized by the National Association of ‘Italy-Cuba’ Association to help the nation in its fight against COVID-19.

Havana, Cuba: Recording and Musical Edition Company’s – (EGREM) representatives on Monday received first donation of the medical supplies which was organized by the National Association of ‘Italy-Cuba’ Association to help the nation in its fight against COVID-19.
The donation also includes – protective face masks, medical gowns, catheters and syringes.
The director of the Europe Department for the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) – Rigoberto Zarza, greeted the Neos airline cargo with medical material built up of 17 cubic meters and more than 2,000 kilograms at the José International Airport Martí.
Zarza thanked the solidarity project of Por un abrazo and stated, “It is the result of brotherhood between our peoples and of Italy’s gratitude for the aid of the Henry Reeve International Health Brigade, which fought the COVID-19 pandemic in the cities of Crema and Piedmont.
Besides this, the founder of the project – Pepe López, highlighted the solidarity nature of the initiative that brought culture and art in the middle of the difficult times experienced in Italy as a result of the contagious coronavirus.
The donation will be further provided to the ICUs at the – Calixto García Hospital in Havana and the municipalities of Trinidad and Sancti Spíritus.
According to the statistics, on 4 October 2021, the island country recorded a total of 4,272 additional cases of the COVID-19 mutant, taking the total number of the cases to more than 896,000.
While so far, a total of 7,618 individuals have lost their lives to the deadliest mutant.
Besides this, Cuba had become the only nation to inoculate toddlers with its homegrown COVID-19 vaccines. As per to the data so far, a total of 83.8 per cent of its population has received first jab of the vaccine whereas a total of 46.2 per cent of the population has received the second dose and are fully vaccinated now.
