Cricketer Kimani Melius’ cousin accuses Daren Sammy and SLNCA of bullying, career disruption

The 23-year-old Saint Lucian cricketer and a former West Indies Under-19 captain, Kimani Melius’ cousin, Shatty Amadee called out Daren Sammy and the island nation’s cricket association for bullying her brother and accused them for ending his career.
Some speculations were swirling regarding Kimani Melius, who was drafted to play in the T10 league in Zimbabwe after not being chosen to participate in the CPL 2024. As per the details, he was selected to join the Jo’burg Bangla Tigers for the Zimbabwe Afro T10 Tournament.
However, he didn’t travel to Zimbabwe which led to a buzz on social media, with posts getting viral, claiming that officials had restricted him from playing abroad.
Also, the situation gained more attention when the cricketer’s cousin openly accused the association and the legendary cricketer, Darren Sammy for disrespecting Kimani Melius.
Shatty Amadee referred to them as the “mafia boss” and stated that these people are pulling all the strings to end her brother’s career. While referring to Darren Sammy, she stated that he is just intimidated by the talent that Kimani possess. “You have done enough and it’s high time you get exposed.”
She also called Darren Sammy the “black money” who is bullying Kimani to keep quiet on the matter. Not only this, she also blamed the Saint Lucia Cricket Association for trying to buy his brother and giving him an allowance every month to keep his mouth shut on the matter.
Shatty Amadee stated that if her brother doesn’t have a voice then she will speak on his behalf to prevail the truth about the dirty games being played with her brother. She called all the claims made by the SLNCA “baseless” regarding the financial issues that prevented him from travelling to Zimbabwe.
Notably, few days ago, Kimani Melius shared a statement, denying allegation made on them. They noted that they are extremely proud of Kimani Melius as a person and a cricketer.
They noted that the period 2023-2024 has been an extremely challenging period for Melius, and they are continuously working with him in order to improve his performances. They called all such allegations, false and asked everyone to stop spreading such unsubstantiated claims.
Moreover, following this, people have come out in support of Kimani Melius and have started trending the hashtag “Justice for Kimani” on social media. The people are demanding answers from Darren Sammy and the Saint Lucia Cricket Association and are asking for the world to know the truth on the matter.
