Roseau, Dominica: It is a huge development for the tourism sector of Dominica as it has been recognized by AFAR and has been named as the best place to travel in October 2024.
AFAR is a print and digital publication which is based in New York and San Francisco that focuses on experiential travel. They cover several topics within travel, such as air travel, hotels, accommodations, food and drink, road trips, family travel, cruise, and many more.
While recognizing the vibrant culture of Dominica, the AFAR magazine mentioned that visiting Dominica in October is great for celebrating the rich Caribbean’s musical heritage. The magazine stated that October is the Goldilock’s time to travel when everything’s just right.
They noted that weather, crowds, and prices are all moderate, and the only thing that over the top is the schedule of events and festivals. While shedding light on Dominica’s biggest and unique festival, World Creole Music, the magazine stated that it offers plethora of experience to all their visitors and make their trip worth memorable.
World Creole Music Festival will be celebrated from 25thto 27th October and hosted at Windsor Park Stadium in Roseau. This festival plays a huge role in championing music indigenous to this island, which also has a huge influence from both Great Britain and France.
The festival is also considered as the biggest crowd driver and attracts more than 10,000 visitors from around the globe to hear music like bouyon, which emerged on the island in the 1980s and has now gained huge popularity across the entire Caribbean region.
This year the artists who have been named to perform includes, Jamaican Hitmaker, Valiant; Queen of Soca, Nadia Batson and Legends of Creole Music, Kassav.
Moreover, the AFAR magazine also highlighted the hospitality of Fort Young Hotel and Dive Resort.
