Caribbean Four Ball Golf Championships 2023: Major Highlights

Team Trinidad and Tobago won the Dessie Henry Trophy at the Caribbean Four Ball Golf Championships on 19th October 2023, at the Royal Blue Golf Club.

In the  Women’s 45-plus division at the Caribbean Four Golf Championship 2023, Ingrid Seebaran and Violet Roopchand from Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association were leading earlier on Wednesday. They ultimately won the Women’s 45+ division.

The championship took place at the Royal Blue Golf Club in Nassau, Bahamas.

Seeberan and Roopchand returned 129 scores unitedly, 84 on the first shooting day (Tuesday) and 84 on Wednesday after two days of play.

Furthermore, in the Maria Nunes trophy race, Christiana Ferreria and Arrianne McKenzie put up a strong performance and finished in a commendable second place.

The predictions were also made in the same echo just before the win was made official.

Jamaica’s sole representative in the competition, the local ladies, were in second place with a score of 150 (99,52). After leading on day one, the national team aimed to widen their lead on the final day in an attempt to win the championship. 

In the ladies 25-plus competition, Christiana Ferreria and Arrianne McKenzie were in the runner-up spot, scoring 153 (85,78). To win the Marie Nunes trophy on the final day, the pair looked forward to going past leaders Jamaica 140 (95, 45). The Bahamas was in the third spot, scoring 191 (95,56).

Furthermore, In the Men’s senior category, Wayne Baptiste and Richard Camacho were tied for second place with Cayman Islands A. Baptiste, currently president of the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association. His partner’s total score is 142 (71,71), placing them behind Jamaica A with a score of 135 (66,68). The Senior Division features eight teams competing for the Francis Steele Perkins trophy.

Sheriss Rampershad and Kevesh Ramnath were in third place among the Mid- Amateurs, scoring 144 ( 74,70). They were behind the Bahamas with 140 ( 70,79) and Jamaica A with a score of 141 (71,70).

In the Super Senior category, team captains Steven Hall and Douglas Ammon tied for seventh place with a score of 154 ( 77,77), along with Turks and Caicos. The Bahamas, Jamaica A, and Barbados hold the top three spots, while Cayman Islands A, Jamaica B and Cayman Islands B are ahead of T & T.
