Car salesman apprehended for possession of stolen vehicle

A used car salesman was charged for the possession of a Stolen Vehicle on December 6, 2023.

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: A used car salesman was charged for the possession of a Stolen Vehicle on December 6, 2023.  

Reportedly, officers of the Stolen Vehicle Squad apprehended and charged one man as he was caught with a stolen car.

It is to be noted that Christian Spann, age 30, is a used-car salesman of William Street, and Johnny King Branch Road. However, Aranguez was granted bail in the sum of $ 250,000 by Justice of the Peace Stephen Young.

Notably, he is scheduled to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on January 10, 2024.

Details of the case

– The charges against the accused stem from a report of a stolen white Toyota Axio, which was allegedly taken from the Central Division on August 30, 2022.

– It is to be added in the remarks of officials that it was later found with a tempered chassis number and grasped in the Central Division on October 24, 2023.

– PC Green of the Stolen Vehicles Squad looked out for legal advice after a thorough investigation.

– In due course of time, he charged Spann for the offence of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Notably, the investigation of the case was led by Senior Supt. Ramjohn, Supt. Pariman and ASP Ramdass, among others, and it was directly governed by Inspector Lazarus.

As soon as this case came to the limelight on social media, many people expressed their joy to the officers for their outstanding work. One person named Kelly David commented,

“Great. This is what the authorities needed to do. Go after the facilitators. The sprats are stealing people’s cars because someone is buying.”

Another person named Pamella Nelson wrote,

“Great job TTPS, no compassion, the person may be still paying, I hope u will stop the facilitator of buying stolen stuff.”

Additionally, the stolen vehicle could not be repudiate the insured’s genuine claim on technical, petty and frivolous grounds of absence of permanent registration certificate from the competent.
