The vehicle, a white AD wagon, was reported stolen in the Morvant area around 2:00 am this morning. An All-Points Bulletin was sent out, and the vehicle was intercepted along the Manzanilla Mayaro Road by an Emergency Response Patrol vehicle. This recovery brings the total to eight stolen vehicles recovered during exercises this past week.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service remains vigilant in ensuring the safety of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Continuing on the successes of the past week, officers are out to maintain law and order during the Divali weekend and leading into the Christmas season.

The last week saw one murder suspect apprehended, 13 firearms, and a quantity of ammunition and narcotics seized, along with the recovery of eight stolen vehicles.

The TTPS is also continuing its efforts to reduce violent crimes and gun violence through the illegal gun removal and retrieval initiative. From 12:00 am to 10:00 am, one man was arrested, and two firearms were seized by officers in the North-Eastern and Port-of-Spain Divisions in two separate incidents.

In one incident, North-Eastern Division officers arrested one man in possession of a firearm and four rounds of ammunition while conducting patrols in the Beetham Gardens area around 9:40 am this morning, October 22nd, 2022.

Officers attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) Operational Response Unit (ORU) spotted a man walking in the vicinity of 20th Street, Beetham Gardens. Upon seeing the police, he began behaving suspiciously, causing the officers to stop him and conduct a search. The gun with the ammunition was found concealed on his person.

The 22-year-old suspect is expected to be charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. This is the third firearm seized by the TTPS in the Beetham area over the last ten days. The other two firearms were automatic rifles.
