Bottom Bay

Bottom Bay is located on the southeast coast of the island, in the parish of St Philip. The beach is a serene spot and perfect for relaxing, picnicking and sunbathing. Travellers and visitors can explore the cave at the end of the beach.

Noting this, one may climb up the steps to the cliff top and enjoy the panoramic view of the south coast. It is a wide, expansive beach with smooth, rolling waves riding onto the shore.

However, swimming can be a challenge for those with a faint heart because sometimes the waves are very strong here, and the currents are unpredictable. Therefore, swimming is not recommended.

Visitors are advised to admire and enjoy the beauty of the ocean from a safe distance. If they are lucky, they can observe a glimpse of some turtles or whales in the water.

Moreover, Bottom Bay is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves nature and adventure. It is a place where one can escape the crowds and noise and reconnect with themselves and the environment. The only noise is the crashing of the waves.

Additionally, travellers across the world shared their experiences of their visits to Bottom Bay. Some of the reviews are read as the following.

A person named Kadeen H stated, “Came to see the sunrise, was not disappointed. A surreal experience seeing the sun through the palm trees. Then, descending the spooky steps to the beach was a magical experience, like going into another world. A lot of crabs scurrying around too.”

Another user by the account name of Crossley Towers remarked, “This is a fabulous beach and the Atlantic Ocean was Definitely at its wildest when we were there. This beach is not a swimmer’s beach but is still very much a beach to visit. Beware of the sand flies and also there was a Portugese Man of War Jellyfish on the beach. Make sure you take a look at the fossils in the rocks near the waters edge.”
