Bahamas: Sandals Emerald Bay is all set to undergo $100 million investment to transform into ‘Beaches Exuma’. This exciting project in Bahamas will play a huge role in not only attracting large number of tourists to the country but also creating over 850 jobs for the island and 400 jobs in construction phase.

Notably, the Sandals Resort International announced to expand the family-friendly Beaches resorts brand with the development of Beaches Exuma. It would be marked as its fourth resort and the first Beach in the Bahamas. As per the reports, Sandals Emerald Bay will close on August 15, 2024, and undergo a transformation that is anticipated to begin in Fall 2024 before reopening as the new Beaches Exuma.

While shedding light on this new project, the Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International, Adam Stewart stated that Exuma was made for families and with more than 6,000 feet of shoreline, the new Beaches Exuma will be a gateway to discovering the incomparable and unforgettable beauty of Bahamas.

He continued to say that he has made several beautiful memories with his family along the shores of Exuma. He stated that his own children have grown up among one of nature’s most inspiring playgrounds — from swimming pigs, majestic sea turtles, sandbars and so much more.

Adam also added that this project in Bahamas would prove to be a huge boost as it would produce several opportunities for the local contractors and other businesses on the island, resulting in creating huge development in the economic conditions of the country.

Moreover, the Minister of Tourism of Bahamas, Chester Cooper also welcomed the expansion and stated that he is greatly anticipating the redevelopment of the property. He added that Sandals has been one of the trusted partners with the Bahamas for several years.

The tourism minister also added that they will surely miss the Sandals Emerald Bay, but they will welcome Beaches Exuma with an open heart. He added that it would be an expanded endeavour that caters to more visitors and employs more Bahamians.

“Exuma is my home and I’ll be with her every step of this journey,” noted Tourism Minister, Chester Cooper.
