Barbados welcomed the inaugural Frontier Airlines flight on Saturday from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados on Saturday.

Barbados: Barbados welcomed the inaugural Frontier Airlines flight on Saturday from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados on Saturday.

These new non-stop services will operate three times in a week which shed light on the commitment of the airline to offer convenient and enhance air travel options to all the passengers of the Caribbean. Notably, the announcement of the service was made by the airline in April 2024.

During their announcement, the airline focused on enhancing their network between the island nations and offer their passengers with an exclusive amenities during their travel, ensuring memorable and comfortable experience.

The CEO of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc addressed everyone and welcomed the inaugural flight. She stated that this connection will increase Barbados’ connectivity within the Caribbean region and especially the northern Caribbean.

She also noted that from San Juan, the airline provides easy and low-cost connectivity to many of their gateways which includes, New York City and Orlando, offering several options to the visitors especially during peak periods such as Crop Over season.

She further asserted that the Barbados Tourism Marketing is looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with Frontier Airlines and enhance their connections.

The welcome party was attended by several personnel which include, Marsha Alleyne, Chief Product Officer; Graham Clarke, the Director of BTMI; Anderson King, the Marketing Director; Belle Holder, Manager PR & Communications; Hadley Bourne, GAIA CEO; Ryan Forde, BHTA CEO and Davina Layne, the Executive Director of Intimate Hotels of Barbados.

Moreover, Josh Flyr, the Vice President of Network and Operations Design of Frontier Airlines also stated that they are extremely happy to add Barbados to their growing network of operations across the Caribbean with the launch of new non-stop services. He stated that they will serve as a valuable partner in the tourism industry of the country and make it easy for residents to travel to Barbados and beyond.
