Barbados to experience sunny weather with moderate showers today

Bridgetown, Barbados: Barbados is likely to experience sunny weather with cloudy periods and brief, scattered light to moderate showers on December 12, 2023.

As per the Barbados Meteorological Services, a synopsis of a shear line is affecting the island.

Winds Forecasts

Winds are forecasted to be moderate easterly to east- north easterly breeze from 30 to 35 km/h (19 to 22 mph).

Marine Forecasts

The forecast for open waters is quite encouraging, with moderate swells expected to range between 1.5 to 2.0 meters (5 to 7ft) and increasing.

Moderate east-north easterly breezes, which range from 35 to 20 km/h (22 to 19mph) and decrease, could be experienced by the people.

Seas will still remain moderate in open water with swells spanning from 1.5 to 2.5 meters (5 to 8ft) and increasing; however, the Atlantic high-pressure system is the dominant feature.

The air quality is generally acceptable for most individuals, but sensitive groups may experience minor to moderate symptoms from long-term exposure.

There is a low chance of isolated thunderstorms in both sheltered and non-sheltered areas.

Last week, Barbados was under a flash flood warning, but fortunately, there are no symptoms of weather alert as no high thunderstorms, hurricanes, or floods are forecasted in Barbados’ regions.

The country’s weather in December is a transition month between the dry season and the rainy season.

It is to be noted that generally, the risk of rain remains moderate. However, 70 per cent of the days in the period have a higher risk of showers.

In general, this island nation is generally warm and sunny during December, enjoying 3000 hours of sunshine with relatively mild temperatures.
