Barbados reports 80 new cases of COVID-19
35% population have been fully vaccinated

Barbados is having 5,152 active COVID-19 cases on the island. Out of which 80 are recently reported in the last 24 hrs. This shows the increasing positivity rate of COVID-19 in the country.
According to the COVID-19 updation report, there are 413 total Barbadians in isolation. The health department has tested 2,66,567 people, of which 5,152 were reported positive, 2,535 were female, and 2,617 were male. A total of 2,544 tests have been conducted in a single day.
In Barbados, 1,12,329 people received their first shot of vaccine and 94,803 have been fully vaccinated with getting 2 shots according to the present time. 35% population have been fully vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Immunisation Unit has advised that first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine are available at all operating vaccination centres.
To combat COVID-19, Barbados has received 33,600 doses of Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccines under the COVAX facility from PAHO.
As Barbados received another batch of AstraZeneca vaccines in its “arsenal” to fight the virus, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has disclosed that just under 2,300 people were inoculated yesterday.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3
The school sites which will open on Friday, September 3, are Harrison College; St. Leonard’s Boys’ Secondary School; Princess Margaret Secondary School; Christ Church Parish Church Hall; the University of the West Indies Open Campus and The Lester Vaughan School.
The non-school sites are Building No.2, Harbour Industrial Park; the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic, and the Masonic Centre, Salters, St. George.
All sites run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
The Unit encourages persons who have passed the eight-week mark since their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine to go to any site for the second dose.
