Bahamas has been announced as the latest addition to the lineup of the GFNY Global Endurance Sports Series, which is scheduled to take place on November 3rd, 2024. It will feature a competitive long-distance race, covering 60.8 miles with 1392 ft of climbing.

The GFNY Bahamas participants will have two options, according to the needs and demands of both seasoned and cycling enthusiasts. As per the rules, both races will start and finish at Goodman’s Bay.

In the long-distance race, the participants must go through two loops of a scenic route. Meanwhile, in the medium-distance race, the cyclists will be given a thrilling challenge and want a shorter yet equally rewarding experience.

Notably, GFNY is a personal endurance challenge where the participant gets a chance to compete against others, the clock and themselves. In this race series, some athletes compete for the podium, and others do their best to beat the cut-off.

While shedding light on the addition of the major cycling event to the events calendar of Bahamas, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Chester Cooper stated that this event will play a huge role in promoting the tourism sector of the country.

He added that they are extremely excited and thrilled to welcome the participants of GFNY and their families in order to offer them with the beautiful offerings of the Bahamas. He further stated that he is looking forward to welcome large number of participants, their families and other travellers so that they can also experience the beauty and hospitality of the island nation.

Moreover, the Director General and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, Latia Duncombe also expressed his excitement on welcoming GFNY to Bahamas. He stated that they are not only opening their doors to the world-class athletes but also all excited to promote the rich cultural heritage of the nation.

Latia Duncombe noted that the tourism ministry is looking forward to offering a plethora of experiences to visitors and residents alike.

The President of GFNY, Lidia Fluhme, also shared his views on adding the Bahamas to the race. He stated that GFNY is the race of dreams for all the participants and that it is an endurance sports experience. This experience is not just for the athletes but also for all the family and friends members who are accompanying them. Therefore, he added that nothing could be a better option than the Bahamas for this addition.
