The Ariza Credit Union in Grenada informed members of a disruption in their serviced, caused by a cyberattack on their facilities. Having said that, the credit union assured members that their funds are secure and there is no cause for concern in that regard.
The Ariza Credit Union issued an official statement on Sunday, the 24th of March 2024, in which it delineated that the union’s computerized systems experienced a cyberattack. The union has decided to leave its systems offline on Monday, the 25th of March and Tuesday, the 26th of March but assured members that it is purely a precautionary measure.
In-branch systems, ATMs, online services (AMIE) and Point of Sale, amongst other services are expected to remain unavailable at all locations, as well as online, for the stipulated time period as a result of this decision.

Where the union will seek help from the authorities or pursue an internal investigation has also not been clarified which has left many in the lurch. As questions surrounding the cyberattack and the uncertainty that comes with it mount, it is unclear how this episode will affect the Ariza Credit Union’s reputation and prospects in the future.
