Anderson Peters wins another gold, despite illness
Anderson Peters added another medal to his bag by winning a gold medal in the World Athletics Continental tour to the Fribourg Track Lab in Switzerland.

Grenada: Anderson Peters added another medal to his bag by winning a gold medal in the World Athletics Continental tour to the Fribourg Track Lab in Switzerland. He made a throw of 81.18m, setting a new stadium record to claim the medal for his nation.
While shedding light on this victory, Peters stated that he was suffering through illness this week and performing with it was very difficult for him. However, he still worked hard for it and managed to secure the win with 81.18m for his country.
After this exceptional victory in Switzerland, the athlete is aiming for his next challenge, Zurich Wanda Diamond League on 5th September 2024. Notably, the final regular season stop of the 2024 Diamond League is the Weltklasse Zurich with 14 disciplines split evenly between women and men.
Recently, Peters has also won gold medal at the Lausanne Diamond League 2024, with a massive throw of 90.61 m. His throw shattered the previous record set by the renowned athlete of Trinidad and Tobago of 90.16m Keshorn Walcott.
And, keeping up with the same confidence and optimism, Peters stated that he is hoping to bring another medal for his nation. He noted that it was truly an outstanding feeling for him to be able to finally throw over 90m and now he is once again aiming and hoping to exceed that mark.
The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell extended congratulations to the athlete and praised his commitment and dedication for the sports and his passion on representing his country on an international platform.
He stated that it is Peters commitment that even through illness he competed for his nation is truly remarkable and is a source of inspiration for every aspiring athlete who wishes to represent his country on an international platform.
Moreover, the Prime Minister and Ministry of Youth, Sports of Grenada have extended best wishes to the athlete for his future championships. They have called him the nation’s hero who is continuously working hard to bring laurels to his nation.
Following Anderson Peters victory and setting new record, the citizens of the country have started calling him record breaker athlete. As, they took to their social media account and extended best wishes to the athlete for once again shattering the record of the stadium and giving a new record.
One person commented, “Anderson Peters Oly, you are just lifting us all up with every throw of that javelin. Congrats and well done! We are so proud of you.”
Some citizens also sent him best wishes for his speedy recovery and noted “Just remember to take care yourself, congrats Anderson Peters, continue to make all of us proud of your achievements.”
