Guyana:  President of Dr. Irfaan Ali met Commander of the U.S. Southern Command, Admiral Craig S. Faller, to promote Defense Cooperation. The outcome is that Guyana & US Commander signs Cross-Servicing and Acquisition Agreement.

According to the Office of President, Guyana Defence Force Chief of Staff, Brigadier Godfrey Bess, and Commander of the U.S Southern Command, Admiral Craig S Faller, contracted an Acquisition Cross-Servicing Agreement.

The Alliance will cover transferring goods and services of equal value to support future reciprocal defense co-operation. The defense collaboration between the two nations includes Alliance against regional intimidations and challenges, capacity-building commitments, bilateral training, expertise exchanges, exercises, and military learning schedules.

Meanwhile, a US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visit in 2020, Guyana and the USA contracted a Shiprider agreement, enabling maritime co-operation between the two homelands.

U.S. Southern Commander’s top military leader visited the country in 2017, while Guyana became the first South American country to host the Caribbean Nations Security Conference.

The Convention is commanded to overlay transferring goods or services of equal value to promote future two-sided defense co-operation. U.S. Southern Commander’s top military leader last attended the country in 2017, when Guyana became the first South American nation to host the Caribbean Nations Security Conference.

Several High-Level Government authorities were present in the meeting, including the Honourable Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark PhiRet’d, the Honourable Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd, and Chief of Staff Bess.
