8,659 Bahamians are fully vaccinated and 36 new active COVID-19 cases reported in Bahamas
8,659 citizens of Bahamas have been fully vaccinated till now

Bahamas: 8,659 people have been fully vaccinated in the Bahamas till now. Total 55,037 doses of vaccine Bahamas has received till present.
34,344 people have got their first shot of vaccine till now in New Providence, and out of them, only 7,051 people have been fully vaccinated. In Grand Bahamas, 6,796 people have got their 1st dose of vaccine, whereas only 1,602 people have been fully vaccinated. Total people who have got their first jab of vaccine are 46,378, and others are still awaiting the second dose required to become fully vaccinated in the entire Bahamas.
As for the remaining Family Islands, 1,354 people have received first doses on Eleuthera, 18 on Mayaguana, 874 on Abaco, 832 on Exuma, 603 on Andros, 398 on Bimini, 324 on Long Island, 289 on the Berry Islands, 252 on Cat Island, 129 on Inagua, 32 on Acklins, 101 on San Salvador, 21 on Crooked Island, 18 on Mayaguana and 11 on Rum Cay. Three people on Cat Island and three people on Andros are fully vaccinated.
According to the new data of the Health Department of Bahamas Health, 36 new cases have been reported in recent times in the Bahamas with which the total number of new cases has reached 11,796 since the pandemic hit the Bahamas, out of the new cases, 2 are on Grand Bahamas,30 on New Providence, 1 on Abaco and 3 on Andros.
Delivery has been confirmed of 100,800 vaccine doses by making a down payment of $250,000.A total of 33,600 doses were delivered in April. The balance of 33,000 doses was expected to be delivered by the end of May to the Bahamas. Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVAX Facility will deliver this shipment of the vaccine in the Bahamas, which will be helpful to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country.
