St. Kitts & Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew has congratulated students from the first ELEVATE cohort after they recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in English Language and Principles of Business and a 75 per cent pass rate in Human and Social Biology in the 2026 CSEC examinations. This highlights the importance of the second-chance approach of the programme through the ELEVATE CSEC Examination Centre.
The students were the first ELEVATE participants to sit the CSEC examinations through the centre.
The cohort recorded five Grade Ones, six Grade Twos and two Grade Threes, along with additional passes in other subjects.
In his congratulatory message Prime Minister Drew said that the results showed that education can provide people with an opportunity to change their direction and work towards a better future.
“Their results are encouraging, with five Grade Ones, six Grade Twos and two Grade Threes, along with additional passes. Importantly, every student who sat the English Language and Principles of Business was successful, while Human and Social Biology recorded a 75% pass rate,” he said.
Drew also congratulated the students for completing the examination process and recognised the ELEVATE leadership, tutors, staff and others who supported them throughout the programme.
The Prime Minister said that the achievement was about more than examination grades and also pointed to the role of education in helping people rebuild their lives.
The PM encouraged the students, saying that their past does not have to define their future. “Keep going, keep learning and keep believing in what is possible,” he said while congratulating the entire Elevate family.
The ELEVATE Centre was officially dedicated as a certified CSEC Examination Centre on April 29, 2026. The centre was established to give the participants another chance to obtain CSEC subjects. It is a part of the wider focus on education, rehabilitation and personal development of the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis.
This programme was launched in July 2023 as a revised approach to support at-risk and marginalised individuals, with a focus on training, certification, capacity building and entrepreneurship.
The latest examination results also provide an early academic milestone for the programme’s CSEC centre and add an educational component to its wider efforts in order to provide participants with opportunities for personal development and a fresh start.
