4 suspects were granted bail by First District Court, Castries, Saint Lucia
The operation was held in the Northern and Central Divisions of Castries, Saint Lucia and the authorities executed seven search warrants.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The First District Court granted bail to the four suspects who were arrested for the offence of possessing a firearm, ammunition and drugs. The suspects were apprehended under the operation conducted by the authorities. It is to be noted that the officers held the exercise on Friday, 19th January 2024.
The operation was held in the Northern and Central Divisions of the nation, and the authorities executed seven search warrants. It was conducted with a motive to mitigate crime-related activities on the island, ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of the nation.
As per the information, 47-year-old Terry Charles alias Denzy and 31-year-old Drucella Blaze alias Drucella Jules were arrested and charged with the offence of possessing a firearm and ammunition. They both are the residents of Jacmel, a quarter of Anse La Raye.
The authorities executed a search exercise at the residential area of both suspects. During the search, the authorities found and seized
- One 9mm pistol
- Eight rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Terry Charles was taken to the First District Court in Castries for the purpose of bail. He was granted bail under certain conditions. The condition includes,
- Terry Charles had to pay a sum of twenty-three thousand dollars (XCD23000.00) cash, land, documents or suitable surety for the offence of possessing a firearm.
- A sum of twelve thousand dollars (XCD12000.00) cash, land documents or suitable surety for the offence of possessing ammunition.
Drucella Blaze was also taken to court for the offence he committed. He was also granted bail under certain conditions. The condition includes,
- He had to pay a sum of twenty thousand dollars (XCD20000.00) in cash, land documents or suitable surety for the offence of possessing a firearm.
- Drucella Blaze was granted bail for the sum of ten thousand dollars (XCD10000.00) cash, land documents or suitable surety for the offence of possessing ammunition.
Moreover, the authorities arrested 26-year-old Dwight Winter for the offence of possessing a firearm and ammunition. The authorities found and seized
- One (1) Glock 9mm pistol
- Seventeen (17) rounds of 9mm ammunition.
He is a resident of Careille, Castries and the authorities discovered the weapon in his dwelling place. Subsequently, he was apprehended and charged with the offence of possessing a firearm and ammunition.
Notably, he was also taken to the First District Court in Castries, where he was granted bail. The bail was granted under certain conditions.
The condition includes,
- Dwight Winters had to pay a sum of twenty thousand dollars (XCD20000.00) in cash, land documents or suitable surety for the offence of possessing a firearm.
- He was granted bail for the sum of seventeen thousand dollars (XCD17000.00) cash, land documents or suitable surety for the offence of possessing ammunition.
Furthermore, the Royal Saint Lucia Police arrested and charged 37-year-old Karlem St. Croix alias ‘Cow’, a resident of Beausejour, Gros-Islet.
The suspect was apprehended for various offences which includes,
- Failing to comply with a court order
- Offence of possessing controlled drugs
- Possession with intent to supply drugs.
It is to be further added that the authorities also seized a quantity of cannabis resin from the dwelling place of the suspect.
Therefore, he was also taken to the same court for the offence he committed. He was granted bail for the sum of three thousand and five hundred dollars (XCD3500.00) cash, land documents or suitable surety.
Karlem St. Croix was also charged with committing the offence of harm following investigations into an unrelated report. He was granted bail for the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars (XCD2500.00) cash, land documents or suitable surety.
He was also directed to pay a cumulative penalty of twenty thousand dollars (XCD20000.00). Non-compliance with this order will lead him to prison.
