24-year-old stabbed to death in Saint Lucia, 16-year-old suspect arrested
A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death over the Bridge, Dennery, Saint Lucia, on Wednesday 7th February, 2024. It is to be noted that the authorities of Dennery Police Station of Saint Lucia responded to an incident, resulting in the arrest of a 16-year-old.

Castries, Saint Lucia: A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death over the Bridge, Dennery, Saint Lucia, on Wednesday 7th February, 2024. It is to be noted that the authorities of Dennery Police Station of Saint Lucia responded to an incident, resulting in the arrest of a 16-year-old.
Notably, the victim has been identified as 24-year-old Donal Joseph, a resident of Over the Bridge, Dennery. The police officials have not revealed the suspect’s name or any further information.
As per the information shared by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, a male individual, Donal Joseph was attacked with a knife at Over the Bridge, Dennery and faced several injuries all over the body. Subsequently, the victim was taken to the Dennery Hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner at the institution.
The police officers of Saint Lucia have ensured that they are investigating the matter thoroughly and are trying their best to punish the culprit for his/her offence.
Various residents of the community also took to their social media accounts and commented on the matter and raised their concern regarding the increase in crime rates in the nation.
One person with a Facebook account Raffaele Cantoni commented “Afterwards, we have 1 homicide per day! That’s crazy. Our minister should start to look to the misery social conditions of the citizens. The frustration is high, the social security assistance is missing, no jobs and the few available are paid with the minimum wage.”
“People are killing each other for no reason and the reason has to be found in the poor social condition. The police are surely doing what they can to stop this violent wave of behaviour, but it’s not enough,” wrote the other person.
The citizens of the island nation have requested the government and the authorities of the nation to take stringent actions to curb the increasing crime rates of the country. Meanwhile, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has stated that they will ensure all the security measures are thoroughly implemented, prioritizing the safety of the general public.
