10 athletes from St. Kitts and Nevis to participate in Philadelphia 129th Penn Relays, leaders congratulate

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: Charles E Mills Secondary School marks the significant milestone as ten athletes are all set to represent St Kitts and Nevis in the 129^th Penn Relays in Philadelphia from 25^th to 27^th April 2024. The event is a great opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talent and potential.

The Penn Relays is the oldest and the largest track and field competition which is conducted every year with the motive to attract top athletes and teams from all around the world. The event provides a platform to all the players to display their talent, abilities, skills and techniques.

The team will be led by Principal Eisha Jackson, Head Coach, Roater Johnson, and Team Manager Niketa Isles. They all have pledged to guide all the athletes with the best knowledge so that they can utilize them for their competition.

The athletes from the Charles E Mills Secondary School who will be representing St. Kitts and Nevis include,

Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis also congratulated the school for being the first representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to participate in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our young athletes and we trust they will be successful and represent our federation well,” asserted Dr. Hanley.

 Minister of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas also extended congratulations to the ten athletes from Charles E Mills Secondary School (CEMSS) who will be participating in the tournament.

“Congrats and let’s wish The Team Well. Wishing them all the best and may they gain all the Experience they can,” noted Denzil Douglas.

Moreover, Minister of Sports of St. Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins also extends heartfelt wishes to the coaches and players for the tournament. He noted “May your dedication and hard work shine bright on the track. Go, Team.”

Such participation by the athletes in the international competition reflects the unwavering commitment and dedication of the administration towards promoting sports among the youth of the nation.
