St Vincent and the Grenadines: TUI Cruises Mein Schiff 6 made its inaugural visit to the shores of Port Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines on Sunday, 31st March 2024. The cruise welcomed over 1000 passengers to the shores of the island nation.
The tourism ministry conducted the ceremony in order to extend welcome to the captain and crew of the vessel to the shores of St Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time.
The tourism ministry stated, “We are delighted, on Sunday, March 31st, 2024, to welcome the passengers, captain and crew of the TUI Cruises – Mein Schiff 6 on the occasion of their inaugural call to Kingstown Cruise Terminal.”
Notably, Mein Schiff 6 is on a 16-day one-way trip with the theme “Easter.” The journey of the vessel began on 29th May 2024 from La Romana and will reach their final destination to Palma de Mallorca on 14th April 2024.
It was also shared by the tourism authorities that St Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to receive 377 calls during the 2023-24 cruise season.
With the arrival of large number of cruises, the nation is likely to witness surge in the tourism sector of the country. The increase in the number of tourists will create employment opportunities for the local citizens and give them a platform to generate revenues for the nation.
The tourism authority of St Vincent and the Grenadines is also making continuous efforts in order to promote the island nation as a perfect destination spot. The improvement in the tourism sector will also result in enhancing economic conditions which will directly lead to the growth and development of the nation.
Moreover, the cruise management offered several facilities to its citizens in order to ensure their trip, memorable and comfortable. The cruise season always open doors of several opportunities as well as growth of several sectors of the country such as hospitality, tourism, restaurants, shops and many more.
It is also a great way of attracting international visitors and promoting the vibrant culture and traditions of the island nation. The residents of the nation have lauded the tourism ministry for their constant efforts in promoting and fostering the rich cultural heritage of the nation through cruise tourism.
