Mas Domnik begins at Windsor Park Sports Stadium
The Ministry of Tourism is bringing the heat to the streets of Roseau as they are set to kick off Mas Domnik, The Real Mas, this coming Saturday at Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Roseau, Dominica: The Ministry of Tourism is bringing the heat to the streets of Roseau as they are set to kick off Mas Domnik, The Real Mas, this coming Saturday.
It is to be noted that for the first time ever in Dominica, the celebration of events was taken to new heights with the Crossing of the Field at Windsor Park Sports Stadium at 5:30 pm.
Notably, the event will be a full-view spectacle that will leave people in awe.

Interestingly, the wrapping opening will be concluded with a Band Meet Band Performance by Triple Kay International, Signal Band and more that will keep the rhythm alive and the energy soaring.
In addition, the carnival is set to take place on January 6, 2024 at 3 pm.
The Real Mas’s first live press conference took place on January 3, 2024, on Dominica Festivals and Ministry of Tourism’s social media pages. The Dominican Carnival will run from January 6 to February 17.
This carnival will host a series of events in January, such as the opening of Carnival, Stardom Tent (opening tent), Jazz in the City, Miss OECS Pageant, Stardom Tent (Promotion of New Song), Ole Mas Festival, St Joseph Village Carnival, Pan in the city and many more.
In February, the people of Dominica will witness the blast of joy and excitement during the events. For instance, Mas Jamboree, Stardom Tent (Clash of the Tents), Marigot Village Carnival, Mahaut Village Carnival, Wine Down, Lagoon Street Jump Up, Bouyon Day, Jazz in the City Carnival Edition, Miss Dominica Pageant, Sunrise, among other events.
It is to be noted that the celebration features the bold young women from the various pageants across the island wearing traditional costumes such as,
– Darkies
– Ban Move
– Bwa Bwa
– Sensay
– Lapo Kabwit
– Costume Bands
– Calypsonians
– Flag Wavers

Notably, this Mas Domnik will display true pictures of the country’s cultural heritage. Nowadays, Dominica makes sensay from crocus bags, banana leaves, frayed ropes, and cloth.
In addition, carnival is traditionally celebrated in Dominica during the entire month of February and part of March. The parades are held every Sunday in different constituencies throughout the country.
