interCaribbean Airways to launch weekly direct flights between Grenada and Guyana
The interCaribbean Airways is all set to offer weekly, direct flight services between Grenada and Guyana, effective from 28th September 2024 with a vision to enhance travel options for all the visitors, aiming to foster connectivity and relations.

The interCaribbean Airways is all set to offer weekly, direct flight services between Grenada and Guyana, effective from 28th September 2024 with a vision to enhance travel options for all the visitors, aiming to foster connectivity and relations.
While shedding light on this venture, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell expressed the need for easier transportation between the countries. He added that this direct flight would play a crucial role in deepening trade relations between both Grenada and Guyana.
He stated “the need to get to Guyana from Grenada, and Grenada to Guyana and by extension, South America is absolutely critical to move people, goods, services and technology.”
While emphasising on this route, PM Dickon Mitchell stated that once-a-week flight will assist a convenient transit to South America for his countryfolk. This accomplishment was bolstered by Guyana’s efforts to solidify connections with Brazil and Suriname through the Linden to Lethem Road and the Corentyne River Bridge.
Along with that, the Prime Minister also shed light on investing in Guyana and stated that it would be very crucial for enhancing their relations and creating diverse opportunities for both the countries.
The Businessman, representing Guyana Manufacturing and Service Association, Rafeek Khan stated that there are several opportunities in all the sectors of the country for all the Grenadians. These business representatives also expressed their desire and willingness to do more business in Grenada and enhance their relations.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, also made his visit to Guyana on 28th August 2024. He was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Guyana, Mark Phillips.
During his visit to Guyana, the stakeholders from the tourism and trade sectors of both the nations attended a Trade Expo, Business Forum, and the “Taste of Grenada” event which were conducted with a vision to promote both the countries.
PM Dickon Mitchell also attended and participated in the Pure Grenada Trade and Business Expo which was organised by the Grenada Tourism Authority. The Expo showcased Grenada’s unique products and services, aiming to create opportunities for new partnerships and foster relationships that will drive future growth.
During his visit to Guyana, the Prime Minister also paid a visit to the CARICOM Secretariat. He held a meeting with the Secretary General, Dr Carla Barnett and exchanged significant dialogues to follow up on key matters related to CARICOM.
The Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell stated that these daily flight services from interCaribbean Airways will play a huge role in enhancing the relation between both the nations.
He added that he is looking forward to the positive results that will emerge from daily flight services and his visit to Guyana.
