The leader of the G9 gang, who is often known as “Barbecue” asserted that, “We take this opportunity to invite the United Nations in general and the so-called friendly countries of Haiti, in particular the United States of America, to register on this page of history as loyal allies who want the well-being of the Haitian people by divorcing the status quo”.
The gang leader has also asked Prime Minister – Ariel Henry to give his resignation while accusing him for his involvement in the assassination of President Jovenel Moise. Haitian Prime Minister has been accused of talking to one of the key suspects, that too on the same day, just a few hours after the Haitian President was killed at his residence.
As per the geo-locations, the phone location of the key suspect at the time when he talked to the Prime Minister was shown of the crime scene (that is, the residence of the President). Cherizier made the request during a press conference that took place on Wednesday in La Saline.
G9 gang is among those gangs who blocked the access of fuel depots in the Port-au-Prince harbour, which resulted in fuel shortage and put at risk hundreds of lives, to which the gang leader said they would open the passage for fuel only if the Prime Minister resigns.
G9 gang is a collective of nine Haitian gangs based in Port-au-Prince, the capital city of Haiti. Cherizier is considered to be responsible for numerous large-scale massacres in the area of Port-au-Prince.
