Guyana woman makes narrow escape from sexual assault
A woman was beaten and chased by an unknown man and escaped from sexual assault in Guyana.

Georgetown, Guyana: A woman narrowly escaped being sexually assaulted after she was beaten and chased by a man in Almond Court in Guyana.
The event took place on the Western Main Road in Carenage on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Reportedly, the suspect was identified as Tristan Campbell, aka “Bighters’ of Big Yard, Carenage.
About the incident
The terrifying incident happened at around 5:00 am. Notably, the woman was walking towards her home after an early morning jog.
The Campbell, with a knife, appeared from behind a wall and started attacking her without any relevant reason.
It is to be noted that the woman somehow managed to escape from the scene, and Campbell jumped over a nearby wall in due course and fled from the place.
When the incident was reported to the police, they started their investigation and search for the man. They discovered CCTV footage that displayed the full act.
In the investigation, the investigating officers have specifically mentioned that “The man was recorded masturbating in the footage as he waited for the woman to approach.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that Campbell’s name was allegedly called as a suspect in the murder of 36-year-old Leann Slater, whose body was recovered in a Ravine in L’Anse Mitan Road, Carenage. Notably, the incident of the killing of Leann Slater took place in July 2023, and the body of the kin was recovered on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
As per the statement shared by the police, “The body of Leann Slater was also recovered semi-nude, and the name of Campbell was allegedly called as a suspect in that murder.”
Moreover, they have also made a call to the general public to join the investigation and also ensured them that the identity of the witness will be kept anonymous.
Noting the appeal that they made to the public, they have also released a public WhatsApp number so that witnesses can come up and report on the incident.
