Guyana: Regional Hospitals receive new All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
Guyana: On Monday, Dr Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, handed over the keys to ten (10) All-terrain Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) to Health Representatives from Region One (Barima-Waini).

Guyana: On Monday, Dr Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, handed over the keys to ten (10) All-terrain Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) to Health Representatives from Region One (Barima-Waini), Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) and Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo), to strengthen their transport system within the region.
The ATVs were purchased under the World Bank COVID-19 Response Project.
During his brief remarks, Dr Anthony stated that while the ATVs will be assigned to various health centres within the regions, they will be of general use to the health systems in the regions.
The Minister, while handing over the keys, encouraged the staff to take much care and use the vehicles responsibly.
Among those present at the handing over were Dr Leslie Ramsammy, Advisor to the Minister of Health; Dr Vishwa Mahadeo, Director General of the Ministry of Health Health Services; Sonia Roberts, Director of Health Sectors Development Unit; Dr Veronica Griffith, Deputy Director of Regional Health Services and Micheal Gouveia, Hinterland Coordinator.
