Grenada: Prime minister, Dr Keith Mitchell, was among 41 individuals who were nominated as candidates to contest the general elections on June 23, 2022.
Dr Mitchell, the incumbent candidate for St George Northwest, has been the parliamentary representative for that constituency since 1984.
On Wednesday, a large group of constituents accompanied the Prime Minister as he journeyed to the Parliamentary Elections Office in Happy Hill.
After completing the nomination process, Dr Mitchell expressed profound appreciation for the outpouring of love and support.
The Prime Minister extended congratulations to all candidates who completed the nomination process on Wednesday.
Dr Mitchell also used the opportunity to encourage Grenadians to exercise their democratic right on June 23.
PM also mentioned that he is truly grateful for the outpouring of love and support demonstrated as he and other candidates were duly nominated ahead of the upcoming general elections.
“The love is real, and we reiterate our commitment to serving the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique,” he was quoted as.
The people of Grenada poured their support towards the nominated candidates, and one of the social media users commented, “All the best, Doc looking confident. God’s blessings.” Yet another wrote, “Good morning, sir Mitchell. Best wishes to you and your party.” And many others congratulated the PM and other nominated members.
The current voters’ list has a tally of 87,794. However, that figure is subject to change as persons have until June 7 to file claims and objections, the outcome of which can affect the final list.
In 2018, there were 78,122 Grenadians registered to vote.
