Grenada graces event of Inter-secondary Schools’ Netball Tournament.

Grenville Secondary School celebrates their victory in a netball tournament.

Saint George, Grenada: The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture announced Grenville Secondary School as the Inter- secondary Schools’ Netball Tournament winner. 

The commencement of the opening ceremony of the Inter-Secondary Schools’ Netball Tournament was held on October 18, 2023, at 1 PM with a March Past of 18 participating schools and Knock Out Competitions at the Tanteen Netball Complex. 

The event was sponsored by the D’s Sports Shop in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports. Grenada brought back the fanfare event of the Netball Tournament after two years of break.

The rest of the matches will be played at the various hard courts nationwide, such as:

  • Wesley College
  • St Joseph’s Convent Grenville
  • Tanteen Netball Complex
  • Happy Hill Secondary School
  • River Sallee
  • Victoria Park
  • La Sagesse
  • Mac Donald College
  • Bishops College

Results of the Match:

Match results of the schools that participated in the Inter-Secondary Schools Netball Tournament-

  1. Anglican High School (AHS)- 192.5
  2. St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS)- 179.5
  3. St Joseph’s Convent St George’s – 195
  4. Happy Hill Secondary School (HHSS)- 188

Every team played very well at their ends in the match and the winners of the tournament are-

  • Grenville Secondary School (GSS) won the competition of 2023 D’s Sport Shop
  • Anglican High School (AHS) bagged 2nd position and
  • Bishop’s College (BC) hold 3rd place 

D’s Sport Shop/ Ministry of Sports Inter secondary School Netball Tournament congratulated the winners and awarded them with trophies answering the excitement built by the spectators who were curious to know which school would be honoured as overall champions in this year’s tournament.

Other speakers who marked their presence at the event included Denva Welsh- the Curriculum Officer responsible for Physical Education; Jennifer Jacobs- the vice President of the Grenada Netball Association, Permanent secretary Responsible for Youth Sports and Culture; and Victor Daniel- the sponsor of D’s Sport Shop.
