Dominica: PM Skerrit greets general public on National Labour Day
Dominica Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit extended wishes to public of the Commonwealth of Dominica on the occasion of the National Labour Day 2022.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit extended wishes to the general public of the Commonwealth of Dominica on the occasion of the National Labour Day 2022.
Prime Minister Skerrit took social media and expressed honour towards the men and women who have been contributing to the development and upliftment of the Caribbean country.
Furthermore, PM Skerrit extended thank you to healthcare workers, police personnel, construction workers and all who tirelessly worked during the harsh time of COVID-19 to keep the nation safe and healthy against the deadly infection.
Prime Minister Skerrit noted, “Today, We honour the hardworking men and women who are making this country stronger, safer for each one of us. Our health workers, police personnel, construction workers & many others continued working to ensure that we all are safe even amidst a pandemic.”
Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Constituency Melissa Poponne Skerrit also extended the warm wishes.
Many other leaders, as well as organisations, extended their wishes to the public to mark the Labour Day 2022.
The Commonwealth of Dominica marks the day on the first Monday of May. The day was celebrated on May 2, 2022 (Monday).
The Caribbean Region celebrated Labour Day as a public holiday. The region observes the off on the day to pay respect and show honour for the contribution of workers.
However, the world celebrates the day on May 1 as International Labour Day or World Labour Day. The aim and objective behind both days are the same – to honour workers and labourers across industries and sectors and also to empower them to understand their rights.
