Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit meets IsraAID delegation
Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, recently met with the delegation from IsraAID on February 1, 2023.

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, recently met with the delegation from IsraAID on February 1, 2023. The delegation included the senior officials from the organisation, including the Chairperson, CEO and Chief Humanitarian and Resilience Officer of IsraAID.
The update regarding the meeting was shared by the Prime Minister on his social media handle, which shared the details about the interaction.
The social media post by the minister noted, “I met with a delegation from IsraAID this past weekend, which included IsraAID CEO Naama Gorodischer, IsraAID Global Chief Humanitarian and Resilience Officer Meira Aboulafia, Chairperson IsraAID Global Board, Yotam Polizer, and Amy Rosenblatt Lui, Executive Director, Beverly Foundation.”
According to the post shared by the prime minister, the delegation was in Dominica to observe the model of resilience and identify opportunities for further collaboration.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Skerrit recalled the disaster caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017 and highlighted that the government has been putting all efforts into upgrading the disaster management risks.
“I gladly welcomed the opportunity to reiterate our gratitude for IsraAID’s support of Dominica since the passage of Category V Hurricane Maria, particularly its assistance to the Education Ministry to build capacity, promote disaster risk reduction strategies as well, as strengthen school emergency operations plans,” the social media post by the Prime Minister stated.
As per the government of Dominica, Jonathan Barsade, IsraAID US Board Member, Andrea Lee-Zucker, IsraAID United States Board Member, Nicole King, IsraAID Dominica Country Director and Health, Wellness and Social Services Minister of Dominica, Cassanni Laville were also in attendance.
IsraAID further expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister for his valuable time. During the meeting, the delegation and Prime Minister discussed important and concerning issues.
