St. Kitts and Nevis: Diani Jimesha Prince Drew, wife of the Prime Minister Terrance Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis paid a visit to pre-schools in various communities to hand over donations of water to each pre-school. She mentioned such a donation as very important in this period of extreme drought.
The communities where the visit is paid by her include:
- KeBabies Child Development (Conaree)
- Louisa Grant Pre-School (Conaree)
- Canyon Day Care (Cayon)
- Vera’s Day Care (Cayon)
- Ray of Hope (Needsmust)
- Nana’s House (St. Peter’s)
- St. Peter’s Daycare (St. Peter’s)
She highlighted that she enjoyed spending time with the children who are spirited, confident and intelligent. She added that she learnt about their favourite colours, kite flying, sports and much more. She also had conversations with the teachers from the schools and learnt more about early childhood education.
“They all beamed with pride when speaking about their students,” mentioned Diani Jimesha Prince Drew.
She as well specially mentioned being impressed by the St. Peter’s Daycare backyard garden. She stated that they have utilized old tyres to plant herbs and vegetables. She also outlined that these help will bolster food security and reduce food importation.
Considerably, their efforts direct towards meeting sustainable goals of the country which direct towards its overall growth and development.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew extended his thanks to his wife for visiting the little ones at the preschools and daycares, and bringing them much-needed potable water during the time of drought and increased heat.
