Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis Denzil Douglas extended congratulations to Mikyle Louis for scoring back-to-back centuries in the West Indies Championship.
The Championship is a competition between eight teams fighting to win Headley Weekes Trophy. The teams participating in the tournament include West Indies Academy, Windward Volcanoes, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Combined Campuses and Colleges, Barbados Pride, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, and Jamaica Scorpions.

Notably, Mikyle Louis is representing Leeward Islands Hurricanes and he scored two consecutive centuries scoring 113 runs in 221 balls in the first inning and 130 runs in 168 balls in the second innings for his team. He scored centuries against Guyana Harpy Eagles in the second round of the Championship. The match is being conducted at Warner Park of St Kitts and Nevis.
While congratulating the player, Minister Douglas added “Congrats 23-year-old Mikyle Louis of St. Kitts. He scored back-to-back Centuries; (113 and 130) in the Leeward Islands Hurricanes vs Guyana Harpy Eagles, in the WI Championship on home soil (St. Kitts).”
Mikyle Louis displayed excellent performance in both innings and showcased his perfect amalgamation of precision, techniques and resilience. His extraordinary innings also shed light on his unwavering commitment and dedication to the sport.
His innings are a source of motivation and inspiration for many other youngsters who want to make their career in the field of cricket and represent their nation at higher levels.
Moreover, Minister of Sports of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins also congratulated the player for his magnificent innings and stated “Congratulations Mikyle Louis on your outstanding performance! Back-to-back centuries, 1 half-century, and 4 innings of pure cricket brilliance! Keep hitting them out of the park and keep up the phenomenal performance.”
Various residents of the community took to their social media accounts and extended congratulations to the player for his wonderful knocks.
