Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Minister for Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas completed 35 years of his stellar services for the contribution and development of the island nation.
His unwavering commitment and dedication towards making St Kitts and Nevis, a developed nation has always been appreciated and lauded by the citizens of the island nation.
Minister Douglas recalled the time of his services and said “It wasn’t always easy, but I knew it would be worth it. Don’t think for a moment, I never felt the pain, the hurt and shame, but chose not to blame, I knew the true story would be told and the glory and beauty of SKN, ALL will behold.”
Denzil Douglas was elected to be a member of Parliament in St Kitts and Nevis 35 years ago and since then; he has devoted his life to the services of the people. He has spent all these years making efforts for the people in order to provide them with a comfortable and secure life.
The list of accomplishments of Minister Douglas is exceptionally long. He has done a lot for the enhancement of various sectors of the island nation, prioritizing the needs of the citizens of the country.
Moreover, Saddlers Secondary School will also be renamed to Dr Denzil Llewellyn Douglas Secondary School to honour him and acknowledge all his contributions and efforts in strengthening the education sector.
While shedding light on his journey, Minister Denzil Douglas said that he is proud of what he has accomplished and that he has contributed to the development of the nation.
“35 years of dedicated service to my Constituents of #6, Newton Ground, St. Paul’s, Dieppe Bay, Parson’s and Saddlers/Harisses and to our Federation, St. Kitts Nevis, Regionally and Internationally…I’m proud of what we have achieved together,” mentioned Denzil Douglas.
Minister Douglas has created a diversified economy based on tourism, international financial services, and agriculture and has brought expansion in several sectors of the island nation. Denzil Douglas has won many awards and titles for his outstanding leadership, determination, and focus.
Along with that, Minister Douglas has also played a pivotal role in several regional and international organizations such as CARICOM, Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Organization of Eastern Caribbean and States (OECS) and many more.
The 35 years of commitment that he has shown for his country exemplifies the hard work and efforts that he has put in for the enhancement of his country.
