Delta Airlines launches non-stop flights to Barbados from May 2025

Delta Airlines is all set to offer daily non-stop flight services from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, USA to Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados. The services will be effective from 7th May, 2025 to 7th September, 2025, aiming to enhance connectivity.

As per the schedule, the Flight DL1985 will depart from Atlanta International Airport at 9:45 am to reach their final destination, Barbados at 2:20 pm. Meanwhile, the return flight DL1984 will take off from Barbados at 3:40 pm for USA.

The Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados, Ian Gooding-Edghill, stated that the addition of the flight services represents another vote of confidence in their destination at a time when Network Planning for 2025 is at an advanced stage.

He added that they have been recording an encouraging demand from the US market and the expansion of the services by Delta Airlines will play a huge role in growing Barbados appeal for international travellers.

While shedding light on the addition of these services, the tourism minister noted that it will play a huge role in not only enhancing the air connectivity but also the tourism sector of the island nation.

The tourism minister further expressed his excitement to welcome large number of international travellers and provide them access to enhanced and seamless travel experiences. He also mentioned about the breathtaking destinations of the country and stated that they are all set to offer all the international visitors with an experience like no other.

Minister Edghill also mentioned about the meeting held in July 2024 between the tourism officials of Barbados with the senior Delta officers in Atlanta. The meeting was attended by Minister Gooding-Edghill, CEO of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) Andrea Franklin and Director of USA for the BTMI Peter Mayers.

During the meeting, the delegates held significant discussions with a commitment to expanding services of the Delta Airlines to the island nation, increasing the appeal of Barbados for the visitors and strengthening their relations with the country.

The tourism minister also highlighted about the next year’s “We Gatherin” campaign. He noted that this initiative will play a huge role in fostering unity among the citizens of Barbados and their diaspora, motivating them to reconnect with their roots in order to contribute for the overall development of the nation.
