Cricket West Indies unveils squad for home test series against South Africa
The Cricket West Indies unveiled the squad of players who has been selected for the upcoming Home Series against South Africa.

The Cricket West Indies unveiled the squad of players who has been selected for the upcoming Home Series against South Africa. This series has been scheduled to take place from 7th– 19th August 2024 across two venues.
The first test has been scheduled to take place at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago. Meanwhile, the second and last test match will take place in Guyana at the Providence Stadium.
While shedding light on the players selected in the squad, the, CWI Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe stated that they are “confident” about the team. He added that this squad reflects a thorough evaluation of the recent performances of the players and suitability for the conditions. He continued to say that they are confident that this team is well-balanced and capable of competing at the highest possible level.
Along with that, the Head Coach, Andre Coley stated that they have chosen the balanced combination of experience and youth players who can perform well according to the conditions of Trinidad and Guyana. While shedding light on the vice-captain, Alzarri Joseph, the coach noted that he has had a considerable workload. Therefore, they have decided to rest him so that he can return to his peak performance.
The squad selected for the series include, Kraigg Brathwaite (Captain); Joshua Da Silva (Vice-Captain), Mikyle Louis, Jason Holder, Tevin Imlach, Alick Athanaze, Jayden Seales, Shamar Joseph, Justin Greaves, Gudakesh Motie, Jomel Warrican, Kemar Roach, Kavem Hodge, Keacy Carty and Bryan Charles.
The Cricket West Indies has also unveiled the Team Management Unit for the series and has assigned Andre Coley as the Head Coach, Rawl Lewis as the Team Manager. Also, Jimmy Adams, Rayon Griffith and Shaun Tait has been appointed as the Assistant Coaches for the series.
Moreover, the team will also be having 3 T20I matches that will take place from 23rd– 25th August 2024 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy of Trinidad and Tobago.
