Caribbean Airlines made inaugural flight to British Virgin Islands

Caribbean Airlines marked its historic inaugural flight at the Terrance B. Lettsome Airport of British Virgin Islands on Monday, 14th October, 2024. These new services are expected to strengthen regional connectivity, providing easier travel options between the Caribbean nations.

Caribbean Airlines‘ inaugural flight brought over 52 passengers, accompanied by a dedicated flight crew of seven personnel. All the passengers presented in the flight were greeted with a traditional water salute, making their historic visit to the BVI, memorable and comfortable.

These services between the route from Trinidad to the British Virgin Islands will play a huge role in opening new doors to breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear waters, and unforgettable adventures.

These services will be operated four times in a week, aiming to play a huge role in enhancing regional connectivity and making travel between the islands easier and more convenient.

These new services would be offered on days including Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, bringing over 540 seats into and out of Tortola weekly. As per the details, the flight services on Monday and Wednesday will be provided on the route between Trinidad and Tortola with connection to Antigua and Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile, the services on Thursday and Saturday will be provided via the same route but with connections through Barbados.

As per the details, the flight of the Caribbean Airlines departed from Trinidad and Tobago with a layover stop in Antigua and Barbuda and made its historic inaugural flight to Beef Island, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.

Along with that, a celebratory event was conducted with a vision to showcase the island’s rich culture hosted by The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission to all the passengers.

The event was attended by several delegates including, Premier of the Virgin Islands and Minister of Finance, Natalio Wheatley; Minister of Communication and Works, Kye Rhymer; Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism, Luce Hodge Smith and several industry stakeholders.

Moreover, a ceremony was held at the Piarco International Airport, Trinidad to celebrate the inaugural service of Caribbean Airlines to British Virgin Islands.

The CEO of the Caribbean Airlines, Garvin Medera stated that this new route to Tortola would play a huge role in positioning the airline, as a crucial player in the aviation sector of the Caribbean region.
