Caribbean Airlines launches new service to Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Caribbean Airlines is all set to start its services to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, effective from 14th October, 2024. The passengers boarding the flight have been advised to pay USD10.00 Environmental and Tourism Levy upon their arrival.

While shedding light on this levy, the authorities noted that the main purpose behind it is to protect and enhance the environment of the territory, supporting climate change initiatives and maintain tourism sites. And, these levies can be accepted via cash, credit or debit cards.

The authorities have also shared the process of the payment to be followed in order to pay levy. The Immigration officer will firstly stamp the entry and departure card of the visitors as their initial step. Following that, they will present the stamped ED card to the customer officer.

At the final step, the visitors will pay their levy and, in return, receive their Environmental and Tourism Ticket.

As per the details, the Caribbean Airlines will operate four times in a week to Tortola, British Virgin Island i.e. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The Flight BW 294 routed from Trinidad, will reach its final destination, San Juan, making lay over stoppages at Antigua and Tortola. Meanwhile, the other flight BW 295 will operate its services from San Juan to Trinidad, by also providing services to in-between destinations of Tortola and Antigua.

The flight BW 292, operating on Thursday will offer its services from Trinidad to reach their final destination, San Juan, with stops in Barbados and Tortola. On the other hand, the Flight BW 293 will operate from San Juan to Trinidad, by offering services to in-between destinations of Tortola and Barbados.

While shedding light on these services, Director of Tourism of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission, Clive McCoy stated they are looking forward to welcoming large number of tourists. He asserted that this expansion of the flight services would not only enhance their relations with the airline but will also play a huge role in boosting the tourism sector of the nation.

The CEO of the Airlines, Garvin Medera also reiterated their commitment to fostering regional integration and providing easier access to various destination across the region.

He ensured all the passengers to offer comfortable and unforgettable visit to their respective destinations. He added that with these services they continue to aim to accommodate international travellers, providing them plethora of experiences.
