BMS shares mix of sunshine with few showers in Barbados 

Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) shared that the people of Barbados may experience a mix of sunshine and clouds with a few light afternoon showers across the western districts.

It is to be noted that a weak ridge of synopsis pattern remains dominant across the areas.

Haze Outlook: A layer of moderate dust haze is forecasted, which will reduce the visibility across a marine area and, to a lesser extent, around the island.

Most importantly, haze has been given a ‘Yellow’ alert.

Winds Forecast

As per BMS, there will be a light easterly to east-south easterly breeze from 10 to 20 km/hour, which is equal to 6 to 12 mph.

Marine Forecast

Seas are forecasted to be smooth to moderate in open water with swells that range between 1.0 to 2.0 meters, i.e., 3 to 7 ft.

Notably, during the night after 6:00 pm, the people will witness a mix of clear skies and clouds with a few brief isolated light showers.

It is to be noted that there are no symptoms of weather alert as no high thunderstorms, hurricanes or floods are forecasted in the regions across the country.

Moreover, on the last day, Barbados experienced partly sunny along with brief isolated light showers from 6:00 and witnessed a mix of clear skies and clouds around 6:00 pm on December 24, 2023.

Additionally, Barbados was under the influence of a ridge pattern where clear to partly cloudy skies and light shower activity were recorded.

Air quality is generally acceptable for most individuals. However, sensitive groups may experience minor to moderate symptoms from long-term exposure.

General Weather details

In December, this island nation generally remains warm and sunny during the day, enjoying 3000 hours of sunshine with relatively mild temperatures.

In addition, only around the five degrees separate the year-round high temperature. During this month, the weather is a bit cooler, which could turn up high of 29 degrees Celsius during the day and dip to a pleasant 23 degrees Celsius at night.
