Ministry of Health, Wellness & Environment released new data on the COVID-19 situation in Antigua and Barbuda. It also reported the 0 new active cases of the COVID-19 virus. Till now, 42 death has been reported in Antigua and Barbuda due to COVID-19.

Till now, medical teams have tested many persons for COVID-19, out of which 1,263 positive results have been reported, and 1,217 reports have recovered, but still 4 active cases are pending.

After the test, 04 people are quarantined at their residence, whereas 00 have been hospitalized in the facility. 

The health ministry also released the recommendation to prevent the spread of The Novel Corona Virus, in which it says that the virus starts from your hand, so please wash the hands daily with soap and water or an alcohol-based solution.

Always Cover your nose and mouth with a bent elbow or tissue when you sneeze or cough. Dispose of tissue immediately and wash your hand.

Do not touch your face, particularly your eyes, nose or mouth, to prevent the virus from entering the body.

In the case of social interaction, take a step back and stay at least one meter or 6 feet from others.

If the person feels unwell, stay home. Please do follow all instructions given by your local health authorities.

On March 13 2020, Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced Antigua and Barbuda’s first confirmed COVID-19 case.

Browne said the patient started presenting symptoms on March 11. the lady visited a private hospital where medical officials took samples that were sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) lab in Trinidad for testing. Browne assured that “no stone is going to be left unturned” as he noted health officials are tracking down anyone she may have met.
