West Indies to face Australia from 17 to 29 January 2024 for two-test series

West Indies are all set to face Australia for the test series as part of ICC World Test Championship on 17 January 2024 at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.

West Indies is all set to face Australia for the test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship on 17 January 2024 at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.

Notably, two test games will be played between both teams. The first game is scheduled to take place between 17-21 January. The starting time as per Eastern Caribbean is 7:30 pm on 16 to 20 January and 6:30 pm in Jamaica.

The second test will be played on 25 January at the Gabba, Brisbane. The starting time of the match is as per Eastern Caribbean is 12 midnight and as per Jamaica is 11:00 pm on 24-28 January.

The players that have been selected for the series, namely,

  12. Kevin Sinclair
  13. Tevin Imlach
  14. Shamar Joseph
  15. Zachary McCaskie

As per the information, Jayden Seales was not available for the process of selection due to his injury on his shoulder. Jason Holden and Kyle Mayers were also unavailable because they showed their interest in T20 franchise opportunities in January.

The test series matches will be followed by the ODIs and T20Is matches. The ODIs will be conducted from 1 to 5 February 2024 and the T20Is will be played from 9 and will continue till 13 February 2024.

Furthermore, a few of the uncapped players have also been selected for the series, which includes, the batsman Zachary McCaskie, the wicket-keeper Tevin Imlach, the fast bowler Akeem Jordan and Shamar Joseph and the all-rounders namely, Justin Greaves, Kevin Sinclair and Kavem Hodge.

It is to be noted that this is the second test series of the West Indies out of a total of six to play in the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship. The test series against Australia will be the first of three away series that the West Indies will play in this championship. West Indies has already drawn one and lost one match against India in the month of August 2023.
