Trinidad and Tobago: Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has landed in Guyana and will meet the delegations of the hosting country.

On May 17, 2022 (Tuesday), the prime minister met with the Prime Minister of Guyana – Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, at the State House of Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Georgetown, Guyana.

Prime Minister Dr the Hon Keith Rowley met with His Excellency, Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana at State House, Georgetown, Guyana today (Tuesday, May 17, 2022),” the government of Trinidad and Tobago informed.

The two leaders were engaged in broad, extensive bilateral talks and pledged to deepen ties between Guyana as well as Trinidad and Tobago. The discussions primarily focused on agriculture, energy and national security.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering all the key areas was finalized.

The Senior Minister attended the meeting within the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh; the Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha and other Cabinet Ministers.

Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Senator Dr Amery Browne, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Senator Kazim Hosein and Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Fisheries, Senator Avinash Singh, were also present to attend the meeting.

Prime Minister Rowley and members of his government are in Guyana on a five-day visit to attend the Agri-Investment Forum and Expo, which will be held from May 19-21 at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.

The forum would also be attended by the Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit; Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne; Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley; Prime Minister of St Lucia; Philip J Pierre and many other CARICOM leaders.

In accordance with the government of Guyana, the exhibition will be opened to the public on May 19, Thursday (1 pm to 7 pm); May 20, Friday (10 am to 7 pm); and May 21, Saturday (10 am to 7 pm).
